About · who we are

Aresearchcenterdisguisedasadronecompany.

Vivanta Drone Research Center Tanzania Ltd. designs the aircraft, runs the missions and ships the data. We sit at the intersection of aerial engineering, geospatial science and field operations.

The premise

The world needs faster ground truth.

Traditional ground surveys take weeks. Satellite imagery resolves to days at best. We sit in the gap — aircraft small enough to deploy from the back of a truck, instruments precise enough to guide a master-plan or a pesticide schedule.

The company is named for the Sanskrit-rooted word for “living” — because the data we collect is alive: it changes with seasons, soils and decisions.

Operating principles

Four rules we don't break.

  • 01

    Field-first engineering

Every airframe is dragged through real terrain before it sees a customer. If it doesn't survive a Tanzanian dry season, it doesn't ship.

  • 02

    Data the customer owns

We hand over raw point clouds, orthomosaics and source rasters. No vendor lock, no opaque pipelines.

  • 03

    Built locally, flown globally

Our research center is in Dar es Salaam — and the people who design the drones are the people who fly them.

  • 04

    Pragmatic AI, not parlor tricks

We use machine learning where it earns its keep — crop classification, anomaly detection, change analysis. Never as a label on a brochure.
